How we use AI

We use AI tools in producing our work — mainly for drafting, structuring, editing for plain English, and making graphics.

We do not use AI as a source of evidence.

Every study, statistic, quotation and citation on this site has been checked by a person against the original publication, and linked to the original source wherever we can so you can check it yourself. AI can produce references that look convincing and do not exist. Nothing reaches these pages on the word of AI alone.

The arguments are ours. Where we set out a position, take a view, or advance a hypothesis, that is Karen Luke and Meta Osborne writing, and we are accountable for it.

We ask the equestrian and racing industries to be transparent about their practices. It would be poor form for us not to meet the same standard.

If you find an error in anything we have cited, please tell us. We will correct it and say that we have.
